✎ Draft — review with a legal advisor before launch

This policy explains how GyanRathi handles your personal data, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, and optionally phone number. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name and verified email from them, never your password.
  • Order details: products bought, amounts, dates, and the payment reference from the gateway.
  • Download records: when you download a product, along with your IP address and device type, to prevent misuse.

We do not collect or store card numbers, UPI PINs or bank passwords. These are handled entirely by the payment gateway.

Why we use it

  • To create your account, deliver your purchases and show your order history
  • To send order receipts and important account emails
  • To protect the teacher's work from piracy (your name and email are printed on your copy)
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

Who we share it with

Only service providers who help run the site, under contract and only as needed: our payment gateway, hosting and database providers, and our email provider. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. Order records are kept for as long as tax law requires (currently up to 8 years).

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by writing to support@gyanrathi.com. We may keep order records that the law requires us to keep.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is restricted, and every student can only see their own orders.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies, to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies.
